Nosema sp. PM-1, previously named as Nosema papilio YN, were isolated from butterfly Papilio machaon Linnaeus in Yunnan Province, China. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that N. sp. PM-1 is close to Nosema bombycis CQ1. The genome of N. sp. PM-1 was sequenced by the next generation sequencing. We have obtained 7.7 Mb assemblies composed of 188 scaffolds, from which 2605 protein-coding genes were predicted with an average length of 798.2 bp. This genome project is in progress.
